No. Unlike Medicare-funded allied health, NDIS therapy does not require a GP referral or care plan. If the funding sits in your plan, contact us directly and book. A referral or medical report is useful background for the clinician, but it is not a gate you have to pass through first.

Tell us the problem rather than the discipline. As a rough guide: difficulty doing a task or needing equipment is occupational therapy; difficulty communicating or swallowing is speech pathology; distress, mood or adjustment is psychological counselling; strength and mobility is exercise physiology. For children, our paediatric stream is usually the better starting point, and telehealth suits anyone who struggles with travel or waiting rooms.

You'll get a simple video link before your appointment — no app or account needed. The session runs the same as an in-person one, just delivered over video, and is available across occupational therapy, speech pathology, counselling and exercise physiology. Because there's no travel component, more of your funding goes into actual session time.

Paediatric sessions are usually shorter and more frequent than adult appointments, because children engage better in bursts. The clinician works through play rather than table-top tasks, with a parent or carer present throughout, and coaches you on strategies to carry through the week. Sessions can run at home, at kinder or school, in clinic, or by telehealth.

Both, and for most assessments we prefer to come to you. Function is context-dependent — a transfer that looks fine on a clinic plinth may be impossible in a narrow ensuite. We also see participants at school, in workplaces and in the community. Clinic appointments are available at our Melbourne CBD, Williams Landing and Dandenong offices.

We work that out with you before booking anything. Send us your plan and we will map the Capacity Building budgets against a realistic schedule, including report writing and travel, which both draw from the same funding. Knowing you have twelve sessions rather than an unlimited supply changes how you and the clinician prioritise.

Yes, and we treat it as core work rather than an afterthought. Functional capacity assessments, therapy progress reports, assistive technology assessments and home modification reports are all provided, written with the plan reviewer as the intended reader.

All three arrangements are welcome — self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed. We provide itemised invoices showing session time, travel and report writing separately, which makes self-management easier to administer and gives plan managers what they need without chasing us.

Typically one to three weeks depending on discipline and location, and we will give you an honest wait time rather than adding you to a list and going quiet. Telehealth appointments are usually available sooner. Urgent referrals — hospital discharge, swallowing risk, or equipment needed before a plan expires — are prioritised, so mention the deadline when you contact us.
