Improved Living Arrangements

Support with your accommodation and tenancy

Having a safe, comfortable home environment is essential for all of us. We can provide support to help ensure you can get and keep accommodation that is right for you. If you are an NDIS participant and have been approved for the support category ‘improved living arrangements’ in your NDIS plan, you can access the supports below.

Improved Living Arrangements

Flexibility of services

With NDIS, you have the power to choose the services that best suit your needs and goals, including how services are delivered. Each of the services above can be tailored to your specific requirements, and changed as your needs change.

Support categories

Each support category contains a number of services that you can choose from to help achieve your goals. You can use your budget for any of services within that support category, but you are unable to use this budget for services within another support category. In some cases, you may be approved for a specific support (rather than a category). In this case, you will need to use your budget for this specific service only.

Accommodation / tenancy assistance

If you need help to apply for a rental tenancy or ensure you are meeting your requirements of a rental agreement, we can assist you with support to complete paperwork and understand your obligations to make sure you keep your housing.

Assistance in coordinating or managing life stages transitions and supports

We can provide short term or ongoing support to strengthen your ability to coordinate your supports, manage your life independently, and participate in your community. You can access help with:

• Connecting and coordinating supports
• Organising and maintaining housing
• Planning for changes around work, study, or other aspects of your life
• Decision making, daily planning, and budgeting

Cost of Support

The NDIA publishes a price list, which sets out the cost of each support.
This is the cost of services, no matter which provider you choose. The price list is updated once a year around July and lasts for 12 months. In some cases, the cost of a support may not be fixed, and your chosen provider will provide you with a quote that the NDIA will approve.
